Last night I installed Vista Glazz and did the file patch. Vista Glazz told me that this file patch could be questionable and have negative effects, but I did it anyway. I am using 64 bit Vista Business. When I start up my computer it goes through the regular startup until I get to the Vista orb, at which point I get tons of error messages telling me that there are problems with some .dll files. I click ok and get through all of these error messages only to reach a desktop that is completely black. Is this reversable? What can I do to fix this? Please help quickly.

    Thank you.

I tried booting into Safe Mode. No luck. Same black screen.

I have system restore turned off, but I do have a full pc restore DVD backup from about 5 days ago. That is my last resort though, as I would lose some of the notes I took this past week and such. I think I'm probably gonna go that route anyway if a good alternative does not arise soon.

If you have a Vista disc, you can use it to get to the command prompt. You'll need to find the three files you patched on the DVD, and copy them back to the Windows partition. Hopefully that will overwrite the patched ones and allow you to boot.

or just use the "repair" feature on the vista disc which basically replaces "missing"/patched files.

I just went to my backup. Notes weren't that valuable anyway. Thanks for the help though.

    Btw, I do have SP1.
