I like vista,i dont think IT blows, are you on an administror account? Did you turn off UAC in the control panel? Did u downlload the version of vista you are using? IF yes to any of these than you can remedy them 1) log on to your admininstror account. 2) Turn off UAC and restart. ( if you installed anything dunder UAC that uses administrative access, then the easiest way is to reinstall those apps, software with UAC turned off. 3) reinstall with a NON -nuked version of vista.

Vista really has a bad rep, but its not bad, if you stop some of the processes that are enabled with the OS.

IF you still hate Vista, you can ALWAYS download a student version of XP PRO that has a lifetime update free.

I like Vista too... I admit there was some problems in the beginning (because of the UAC), but after reading some few suggestion in Internet, I solved all of them... and it is 100% stable... I wouldn't go back to XP...

if your a Gamer u really should learn to use Vista... it is superior in a number of ways.

hell Assassins Creed for PC looks nicer and plays at a higher FPS on vista .. as will most new games going forward now.

UAC is not that annoying... if your lazzy turn it off i use it as a way to practice my reaction times ^_^

if you want to you can completely eliminate uac and take total admin control over you system.. not usually recc but can be done so it works just like xp pretty much

I've had Vista for a week now and I LOVE it....I was really reticent to let it into my world, but I'm very pleased that I did...basically, I was ready to hate it, and I love it....particularly from a gaming standpoint....

    pat!

Yeah, Vista might not be as mature as XP but it is the future, so I decided to not load XP and ignore the minor quirks of Vista. It does have great crash recovery many nice features over XP (I actually like Aero, which I originally thought was pointless) so I can hold out until it is perfectly optimized (hopefully SP2 won't take as long as SP1 did..) Also, even though I have a plethora of startup apps, my lappy boots very fast with Vista, although I think running the PerfectDisk system file defrag helps this a lot. Also, ReadyBoost is a very useful feature (I use a 1GB SD card in the card reader). Firefox loads in about 1.5 seconds!
