    Hey everyone,

I've got a ALTeam USB gaming headphones with inbuilt microphone. Ive been using it on 3 of my mate's XP computers , and everything works fine.

However when i tried it on me and my other friend's VISTA laptop , two things happen:
    (1) SOUND become extremely LOUD (i have to reduce volume to 1 or 2 (out of 100) to make it tolerable.
    (2) MICROPHONE DOESNT WORK AT ALL (im trying to chat on msn and no one can hear my voice lol)

I've search on google everywhere and ppl have had the same problem. I think it's just Vista compatibility in general. These earphones are brand new, my Vista is SP1 all up to date.....and yeah.... works on XP perfectly.

if anyone could shed some light on what's going on.... i'd appreciated it.

    Thanks in advance

It's probably not the case and prolly among the first things you checked, but I thought I might as well make sure... Does your headphone have its own inline volume control? Maybe it's been set to max the whole time and your friends' xp computers just happen to be set to a lower level.
