    Hi all,
I have all of my Aero graphical options enabled, but I don't get animation when I resize windows (the button in between minimize and close).

I've checked all my Aero options, and it is on. Other Aero options are fine, I've also disabled, reset, then reenabled, but still missing the animation. Use default Aero theme, haven't modified.

Any way to restore the settings/or essentially reset the service?

Also, I figure perhaps other graphical options are affected, but maybe I just don't recognize they're missing. Essentially all the other major ones are ok.

Hmm, I notice that if desktop composition is on, that's when minimizing and maximizing animation doesn't work. Turn it off, animation ok.

    Any reason why this is?

I think this may also affect things like menu animation.

you don't get animation for resizing windows in Windows (Vista). Get the joke?

Use Ubuntu if you want nice animations. Compiz is simply amazing - light years ahead of Aero

Really? I can't even tell if you're being serious now. But if so, you're right, poop.

I think the minimize and maximize is when you min to taskbar and then restore it.

turn it off and you lose the min to/restore from taskbar effect.

True, but if you turn off Aero, you'll notice that the other effect does exist. It will animate during resize. (That's for me at least)

Aero has no effect on the animations.

Actually I just tried it myself.

With Aero, no animations at all while restoring down, or maximizing (that's the two functions from the middle button). There is, however, animation while minimizing and while restoring from taskbar - this animation includes fade-in and fade-out.

Without Aero, there is always animation, but no fade-in and fade-out.
