    Vista 32bit to 64bit???

    Hey guys is it possible to upgrade vista 32bit to 64bit or you have to buy a new vista 64bit and reinstall the computer with that?

    Huh? What do you mean I mean I heard you can't directly upgrade 32bit to 64 bit....either your cd alreasy has 32 and 64bit on it...otherwise you have to buy a vista with 64bit right?

    you have to get a disk. you BUY always only for the licence. you already have a licence so you have to get a 32bit or 64bit disk. the licence doesn't care what bitversion you install.

    You can use the same license key but need to order a new CD, either from your OEM or Mirosoft - although Microsoft will often redirect you to the OEM.

    Oh, and check my sig - that should tell you a lot too.

    Just go to Microsoft website and for 12 dollars you will be shift a Vista 64BIT CD. If you don't care about quicktime you will have problem I just can't get that dang think to work for watching movie trailer. I have been using vista 64 bit for almost a year.

    Once you use 64-Bit , you will never go back, especially with Vista, they have made 64-bit so compatible you won't have any problems installing 98% of the programs you need.

    Software yes, drivers...hmmm...

    Most internal hardware will have 64Bit drivers - periphals - not necessarily (phones for example).

    Oh, and such things like libraries for Fn keys on Vaios...
