    I believe that will adjust the processors "speedstep" or multipliers. The lower the multiplier (or % ;), the lower amount of energy the chip requires (to an extent, the Core chips are locked at .95V) This reduces heat and will increase battery life at the cost of performance.

    I don't get why it says "Mininum Power State?" Why would you need an minimum state? What should it be set to get the longest battery life?

    In layman's terms, that's the slowest your CPU can go. The slower your CPU goes, the less power it will use. You want to be in a minimal power state if your laptop isn't doing anything intensive, especially on battery.

    Shouldn't I just set it to 0% then for the minimum rather than 5%?
