    Hi.

Is it possible to remove applications such as Windows Mail and calendar from my Vista since I don't use them and prefer things like gmail?

And is there any other junk that you guys know of that Vista pre-installs that I can/should get rid off?

Also will the program 'CCleaner' work with Vista? Loved that program back with my XP copy. Can clean out the old rubbish in the system.

Also (sorry for so many questions), does anyone know if Lavasoft's Ad-aware works with Vista? Or something like that for free that can remove ad/spyware successfully without hassle?

Many many thanks for all your help.

CCleaner and Ad-Aware does work nicely with Vista, but it is wise to run a scan with the UAC off. Depending on where a certain file or folder is located, the programs will not be able to delete them with the UAC turned ON. And you will not notice any UAC PopUps and a rescan will show those files again. So turn UAC off before scanning. Even when using a Reg scan too.

Other than that, they work fine. Sorry I don't know the answer to your first Question.

Cool thanks. At least I've got some questions answered - I'll go and get it downloaded now then. I already have the UAC turned off cause its' really annoying!

    Are you using Vista yourself?

Just noticed your signature - what's a PATA? I use to have a Acer 5672 which says SATA?
