    Hi
Can anyone help me with this?
I have a problem with EasyBCD... First thing i did was a Vista instalation, then i installed Xp, installed the AHCI driver and XP runs on AHCI without a problem. Then i ran the Vista DVD to enable start up... Then i installed the EasyBCD to enable multi-boot, but the program just won't recognize the partition XP's on..
I made 4 partitions, Vista is on C drive, some Documents are on D and E partitions, and XP is on F. When i go to Add/remove entry and select WinXp the little box where you have to select the drive just won't open...
Did i do somethin wrong? What should i do?
    Thanks in advance

no no Don't go about uninstalling things this is a very easy fix. Remove whatever entry you have for XP. Then at the bottom in the bottom b4 you add xp change the drive letter. MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE THE DRIVE LETTER B4 YOU ADD THE NAME OR WHAT TYPE OF windows IT IS. Then once you've done that then add your name and what type of windows it is in this case XP. Let me know if this works

Use Vista Disk to repair the install and vista boot loader will take over then use easy bcd to setup your boot.

XP's boot loader is default because you installed it second and xp's loader cant see Vista.

I have a triple boot with 2x vista and 1x xp on both my desktop and laptop and I have installed them in order of xp first one time and vista first the other time so I know how to do both. Also keep in mind when using easybcd the partition letters in windows are not the same ones that are created in dos so they are easy to get mixed up.

From what I understood from his post is that he was able to repair Vista startup so now he booting into Vista. I think the problem he is having is that he can't get easy bcd to add the right drive letter for xp. If this is the case then what I suggested should work. Please Correct me if I'm wrong about your situation vivancev

Yeah I think he is too but I want to cover all the bases. It actually sounds like he is just having an error with easy bcd, make sure you run the program as administrator and if easy bcd fails you can always manually edit the boot loader.
