Video scene recorder

Does anyone know of a program out there that I can record a little part of whatever I am watching. I just want to record like a scene from like a DVD or some of my home movies. I have tried CapturePad and My Screen Recorder and so far none of them have worked.

 

I have also tried Easy Screen Recorder, and still wont work, just recods the window but not the video.

 

It's because the video is an overlay image. You need something that will capture a video overlay. Some DVD software programs allow you to capture bits of the video, so you might want to check into these types of players.

I have seen Camtaisa used at work, but don't know if it'll capture video overlay.

I did a search in Google and came up with a link with a list of programs that may help. I have never used anyof these apps, so I don't know if they work.
