    Hello,

I found in a French forum a software which makes the fans spinning at full speed on laptops.
But it can also give you access to almost all the hardware in your computer.

Link to the utility's site : RW - Read & Write

Here you are how to get the fans running at full speed on ASUS G73JH-A1, G73JW, G72, G53SW, G53JW, G51JX, G51VX, C90S.
Other ASUS notebooks ? Please have a try, sorry if it doesn't work.
Other notebooks brands ? Please have a try, I dont know more.

1°/ download the software, => RW - Read & Write, Download tab.
    2°/ unzip and instal.
    3°/ run "rw.exe" .
4°/ now RW-Read & Write Utility is running,
5°/ Go to Access and start Embedded Controler , if it has not yet started up.
So you should be at this point :

6°/ Highlight and open this cell :

7°/ So you are here :

    8°/ Change "00" to "01" => Done.

If you have any G73, G53, ... the fans instantly start to run.

9°/ To stop the fans you must power off your pc, and wait some seconds untill to boot.

That's all about fans, but this software is able to get access to almost everywhere in your pc.
You may have some tries to change other values, but at your own risk. I don't know more.

i tried maxing out the fan speed. It does work but i can't seem to reverse it. unless i shut down my laptop it wont slow down. any ideas?

ohh and maxing it all the time shortens the life span of the fans right?

If you have always, all the time, the fans running at full speed, I think their life (the fans) should be shorten, I don't know more.
But in the same time, GPU and CPU's lives should increase, especially for the GPU.
A fan cost many less money than a video card.

If you are often playing, this software should be useful.

I urge you to make a try to compare the temperatures.

Yes, you must shutdown (power off) your computer to stop the software.
Wait about 5 seconds, and started it up. It will be at standard level.

Another suggestion for those with the g72. There is only one fan, find the blue wire on the plug to the fan. Make sure you have enough wire to do this first (may have to add wire). cut it in the middle and connect a on/off switch to the wire. I also cut a very small hole in the bottom of the cover and mounted the switch inside on the back of the memory cover. I mounted it from the inside so that it was below the surface of the rest of the cover so it would not get bumped. It is a small switch I used that slides and I have to use a pen or something small to flip it. when you flip it off the fans will run full speed until you turn the switch on again. It did alot for reducing my temps and since I can control when it goes full power it is quiet if I want to watch a movie.

    Hope it helps
    Tom

What are the chances this would be the same with an HP? Here's my Embedded Controller:

The EC_SC/EC_DATA = 0066/0062 is the same if that means anything.

Lots of information, but what is useful which I don't already have is unknown. Going through my BIOS characteristics now. Can anyone tell what little gems this software may have?

Hi! Any chance you could re-upload the screenshots? I just recently inherited Asus G53JW, and I really would need this fix. Thanks!
