Hi guys, I've done some research and I found that I can use my Vista Home Premium 32 bit serial number to activate the 64 bit version.

My question is : can I do the same if my Vista OS is an "XP to Vista upgrade disc" serial number?

If so, can I use a normal Vista 64 bit CD or I need one specific for my Dell inspiron (I'm pretty sure I can download the Drivers instead of using their CD for a cleaner install!)

    thanks a lot!

I think Upgrade Serial Numbers only work on Upgrade Versions, so you might run into some problems using that Serial Number with a Clean Install version of Vista.

I may be wrong, though. I know you can use the CD key between the different Vista architectures (32-bit and 64-bit). However, based on my experience with XP and Win98, I also know that you can't interchange the Upgrade and Clean Install Serial Numbers. They may have changed this in Vista, I don't know, but somehow I doubt that.
