 I have MyDVD LE in my laptop and I am getting tried of its limited functionality. I kinda regret not buying the full version.

Did anyone here upgrade their MyDVD LE or did you purchase a different software like NERO?

Suppose I buy NERO and install it, should I first uninstall MyDVD?

    That MyDVD LE is worthless.
Yes, uninstall it and load Nero. If you want to, you can download Nero and try it for 30 days free, then decide.

I like Nero so far. But if you do the trial, during the install, don't let Nero change ALL of your file Associations!

I don't recommend upgrading any Sonic product. I haven't had any success upgrading MyDVD - it's better to uninstall and install the full version. I had MyDVD LE and purchased the Plus upgrade, but never got the thing to work. After a whole lot of correspondence with their technical department, I was rewarded with the full version instead of the upgrade version.

Definitely uninstall MyDVD if you install Nero. I've used Nero for quite a few years and really like it. The only thing I don't like with version 7 is the crappy Nero Scout - but that's pretty easy to disable.

maybe i'm missing something, but with so many great free audio/video players out there, why pay for one?

MyDVD is a DVD authoring program, not a player.
