This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Unable to rename folder (Vista)

    I receive this message"

    I n the heading of the error window:

    "Destination Folder Access denied"

    Then:

    "You need permission to perform this action"

    I performed these steps and it still would not work:

    "OPTION TWO:
    Through a Windows Explorer Window"

    I never recive the Window in step #20: (shown below). This is probably the problem. I don't know why it would not appear.



    Vista really is a piece of work.

    I only get this message if my explorer window doesn't update fast enough and I try to make two folders the same name.
