    UGH! Vista's annoying folders! How can i remove them?

    alright when i enter my user's folder there contains SO many folders that I DONT WANT... how can i remove the ones in bold down below so that they QUIT comming back!!

    the folders are:
    CONTACTS
    DESKTOP
    DOCUMENTS
    DOWNLOADS
    MUSIC
    PICTURES
    FAVORITES
    SEARCHES
    VIDEO

    I think you might have the edit the registry or something, those folders are pretty hard coded, not even unlocker can get rid of them.

    Just create a directory of your own there and shortcut to that and you won't see all those others except when you want to.

    ah crap.... you cant delete them? ive been deleting them and they keep comming back! ARGH! if anyone finds out please post how you did them...

    beside that, how do i delete all those other vista stuff such as DVD maker, meeting space, photo gallery, windows contact, and windows calendar...WITH OUT THAT I-whatever program that allows me to selete what to install...?

    You can get rid of some features such as meeting space by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features then selecting Turn Windows features on and off in the task list on the left side of the window.

    Another tool for selecting what runs at startup is Start > Run > MSconfig.

    Or you could just disable them in Windows Defender.

    Start->Windows Defender->Tools->Software Explorer->Category-Startup Programs.

    Favorites are... your favorites.
    You... need these.

    Perhaps... you can edit the registry to keep them from displaying.
    But you can't... delete them.
