The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Heh, I lol'd at this in the description for PC tools firewall plus
    Experts aren't people now?

Edit: Yeah the fastone image viewer is a good program, I used it a while ago, though I prefer Xnview.
The feedback for the PC tools firewall seems to be pretty negative across the web though; I'd stick with Comodo or Zone Alarm or Sygate or Kerio or Jetico.

Well they're really not the same at all. Faststone is an image viewer primarily; it can convert and resize pictures, and has a few effects; but you can't use it to actually make graphics like with Gimp, you can just tweak their appearance a bit.
Gimp is more like photoshop.. can do just about anything with images.
