Have any of you seen this? It appears to be a way to turn off UAC for a specific app. I haven't played with it yet but it looks very interesting and should be used judiciously only for app you KNOW to be safe.

I am a big proponent of leaving UAC turned on, but do wish there were a way to tell it that there are certain apps I don't want or need to be warned about. This may be the answer to that. Right now it is only a "proof of concept", but I suspect it may blossom into something more if it pans out.

Use the CAREFULLY!!!!!!!! Like I said I have NOT tested it yet myself.

Yeah I am used to it as well, and I highly recommend that folks leave it on. But, for some things I use a lot and know are safe, I would like to tell UAC to ignore them.

Why couldn't Microsoft just have included a check box in UAC, "remember this action"? Forget it, it's too simple for Microsoft.

If you have the app. run at startup, you could just use Task Scheduler. But yea, for apps. that dont need to run at startup this app could help...however im not going to try it just yet. uac doesnt really annoy me, 1or 2 extra clicks.

UAC kind of reminds me like a bad Firewall that just keeps asking even though you've clicked "allow" million times already. :D That said, I still use it.

Interesting find, Gary. If I had an app I used regularly that always prompted for permission I'd try this out, however, only the off program or two asks for UAC permission.
