On the desktop in my sig I have XP dual-booted with Windows 7. Recently A virus raped my xp installation and i was forced to reinstall it. Install went smoothly. But now when starting up my PC it boots straight to XP without giving me the option of starting 7.

Xp was installed before windows 7. When windows 7 installed it recognized XP and automatically set up the dual boot. After the new XP was installed it no longer recognized dual boot at start up.

Could this be an OS problem? Or do you think its a problem with my mobo?

Please any help is appreciated. I don't want to re-install 7 although it wouldn't be a big deal.

you need to boot from the Win7 DVD and do a startup repair.

Or you could install a 3rd party bootloader like GRUB or EasyBCD. It will replace the default microsoft OS selection screen on bootup, and will let you configure it from within XP or 7.

I have tried this already, it detected a problem with the boot sequence and i hit repair. It "repaired" and restarted the computer, but it booted right back into xp.
