I recently upgraded my laptop (A Satellite M100 with 1.66GHz Intel core duo (32bit) and an ATi X1400 graphics card) and for the most part it runs great. There are a few issues I'm noticing (some that came with the laptop and some that came with Vista) that I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with. The first and most important issue to me is the SD card slot not working. It's listed in the device manager but it will not read SD cards at all. It is a multi card slot and I haven't tried any other card types but I'm hoping that there is a fix for this. Another issue is the fingerprint scanner. I didn't have enough HDD memory to upgrade XP so I lost a lot of programs in the upgrade, including the fingerprint scanner software. I went to Toshiba's site and redownloaded it but "there are known compatibility issues" I found what looks like it could be a fix for this but I have to uninstall the old fingerprint software to make it work. For whatever reason I can't touch the fingerprint software either through add/remove programs or even by going into explorer - program files. It comes up with an error message saying "Must be running IE 5.0 or higher" I don't see the connection but oh well. Another thing is the external buttons. The power button works thank God but none of the media control buttons work and boy do I wish they did! One issue I had before upgrading was my laptop was having a hard time waking up from sleep. Hibernate works fine but the sleep feature leaves me no choice but to do a forced reset by holding the power button down.

So my questions are: Are there any places that could help me resolve these problems? And What downloads/updates could help with this? Also does anyone else have similar issues? thanks!
