The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I read the people who make Tor are going to be cracking down on the people who use the software in conjunction with P2P/BitTorrent. Their reason, I've heard, is that Tor is unable to handle the bandwidth.

    This maybe true.

    But I think something else is going on here.

    I'd think they're pretty much just doing it because of the bandwidth. A Tor server handles any number of clients depending on the limited bandwidth that the server has, and the whole point of Tor is to allow as many users as possible to bypass a local filter or blocking services so they can access information freely. Not so they can generate hundreds or thousands of connections to pirate material. Some of these Tor servers are user run as well and are probably configured to handle as many clients on the user's bandwidth as possible.
