    I have found a partial solution that may even increase your typing efficiency: Bind caps lock to CTRL and right-CTRL to caps lock!

    I use the program SharpKeys ( http://www.lockergnome.com/nexus/windows/2005/08/25/sharpkeys-v11/)

    Once you get used to this, I hope many of you will agree that caps-lock is indeed the God intended location of the ctrl key, and that today's keyboards are doubly-moronic for flipping the FN/CTRL key and putting the utmost annoying caps-lock key within such easy reach.
