I've been using win7 for about 2 months now but I haven't find any thread in this forum on how to optimize windows 7 or any type of tweaks to make it run faster. Does anybody know where I can find a guide on this?

There aren't any tweaks to make it noticeably faster.

So you just use it as it is? I mean I don't need any kind of tweaks or anything now but I was just wondering why there are so many guides for winxp and vista but nothing for win7. So I guess win7 is so good that it doesn't need to be tweaked then?

IMO there isn't much to tweak performance wise.

Sure, you can tweak like the look of it and thing's like that, but performace wise? I think it is good as it is.

Just make sure you have the latest drivers and Updates installed. Have a good security plan in place, and just take care of your system; Software and Hardware wise.

Windows 7 really does a lot to optimize itself.

Absolutely true. But there are always people that will want to do it anyways.

Just the same general stuff that people have been doing for a while, modifying services, cleaning up the start up list, defrag, etc etc. Nothing really new, and nothing causes noticable gains really.

    Thread closed.

If you guys want to have fun and share your uber knowledge, then do it while complying with the forum rules. Bickering/arguments/insults are not needed and it just leads to the thread being closed...you guys should know this by now.

I would tell you about the ignore system, but since you guys do not intend to use, I guess we will have to do it the hard way from now on.

BTW, the thread will be cleaned up, so that only the first post shows up...I apologize if I delete any "good" posts.

Edit: I left some post, just to show that I am willing to compromise ;).

    OP and other.

If you want to make a thread on specific areas of Wind 7 you want to improve, go ahead. Remember to keep it constructive and in compliance with the forum rules.
