Hey guys and gals!! I’ve got a little question about throttlestop software on my new laptop, I created a undervolted profile for my cpu in throttlestop and used task scheduler to have it run on its own when my system boots up, all of that went fine but my only hiccup is when ever I click the icon to open up the interface, I just get a pop up saying “throttlestop is already running” which is what I wanted however, the interface never comes up!! It’s not on the task bar or in the tray... how can I have it set up that it starts with my computer the way it does now, but also be able to pull up the interface? The only way I can access it is if I go into task manager, end the process and reopen it using the icon. Thanks so much!

In the task scheduler, under trigger, set it to at log on of any user instead of at startup.....see if that helps.

Throttlestop has its own benchmark tool. You find it in main TS window.

There are lots of other benchmarks and CPU / GPU load generators besides XTU... but as long as you don't change any CPU settings in XTU - don't set, don't Apply, don't Save, then the stress and benchmark tools alone won't interfere with TS. At least it's worth trying... ;)

AIDA64, Prime95, OCCT, and other work fine, but you'll need to read up on them and disable AVX/AVX2/FM3 to avoid overstressing your CPU, but if you do run rendering or other software that normally uses those CPU extensions then go ahead and leave them enabled for load testing.

Oh ok awesome!!! I don’t see it anywhere that’s why I was asking! I look for it! I’d rather use a benchmark in the program I use to undervolt.. thank you very much!!

Ok awesome! I’ve heard of a couple of those before but never tried any, do you use any of them? Which one do you think is the best choice for a 7700HQ?

Hey, sorry I missed responding to your question, and now it's been months so I am hoping you didn't wait around for the answer. :)

Which tool did you end up trying?

I use XTU, but some people like TS, and both will work for undervolting just fine.

    Howz it going? :)
