I have Windows XP Pro SP3, and I have 3 GB RAM (specs in sig)

I have disabled my page file and never experienced any problems. But my friend Angel is telling meh that he swears by having a page file...

It's not recommended. Even though you have more than enough ram many applications still rely on a pagefile. Disabling it altogether can cause nothing but problems.

I was reading the other thread mentioned all the way through and didn't see any conclusive reasoning.

Keep the paging file enabled. It may be a mystery, but one must have faith my friend! Despite there being no good evidence one way or the other :) .

With all the benchmarks posters listed, nothing suggested a significant benefit to disabling the paging file. The best anyone can ever say of it is, "haven't had any problems so far".

Unless you desperately need the hard drive space just keep it around. Even if you don't set it very high.

There wasn't/isn't any, but that doesn't mean that we need a new thread on it. We can continue discussion there.

I agree. Unless you have 4 GB of RAM and really really desperately need the HD space for some reason, keep it enabled.

I've been through this debate, and while using XP I had it disabled. No harm happened.
However, since I am a cautious guy which I recommend you to be, leave it on...it doesn't hurt. much :D
