is there a software that i can use to test a dvd to see if there's any errors, i don't want to have to watch through the whole movie to test for errors >.<

You can just try ripping the DVD with imgburn. If there's any CRC failures it will report them. Just a heads up, you will usually get some errors if you try and read a protected disc without running DVD43 or AnyDVD in the background, so to rule those out, I'd install DVD43 (free) and then imgburn (free). Then you should be all set, just have it rip the DVD.

Did it ask you to reboot? Try rebooting.

Just on a side note - copying a protected disc (even if only for personal backup) may be illegal in some countries as you bypass copy protection - just a warning here.

Of course.. You want to make sure you've deleted any files created after your DVD error test is done.
