    Hi,

first off, I didn't know if to post it in here or in the gaming/graphic card section, but let's try it in here first.

    Off to my question.

I have tried to get TV-out to work on both my desktop and laptop (both running Vista) but never got it to work. I have Nvidia cards on both machines and my TV doesn't have HDMI inputs so I simply use component cable (if that's of importance).

Is this a Nvidia driver issue, that has been fixed since I last tried it, or something that still doesn't work?

    Thanks for any answers.

How are you getting component out? I've yet to see a laptop with component outs. Usually it's, VGA, S Video, DVI, and HDMI.

My laptop has S-video out so I use an adapter, s-video to component.

Back to my question, has anyone succeded to get tv-out to work in Vista with a Nvidia card, while having an "older" tv?

I only get the "Can't find your TV, it might not be able to be detected like monitors, try the special detection" message". And nothing happens when I try that.

Can you try directly with the S-Video?

What kind of TV you had? I have a 47'' Panasonic Cathodic Ray Projection 1080i.

When I use the S-video, I gotta do the special detection + it's only in black and white with a resolution of 640x480. Using the HDMI one works well, the detects the model right away

I have a CRT TV from 2001 so all new kind of inputs is out of the question, unless there are adapters for it to scart.
At the moment I can neither detect it normally or with the special detection.

I got it to work now. Thanks for the tip JCMS.

I used an S-video cable with a scart adapter and it worked. Funny that it works on my old desktop computer running XP that it works with S-video to component.
