I'm not comfortable with the Elantech touchpad in my Acer Aspire 5750 laptop which is brilliant in every aspect apart from the touchpad.
I'm thinking of removing Elantech drivers and use window's generic driver and hoping to use Synaptics driver.
Could someone please tell me whether trying Synaptics is a good idea or it won't work at all.
My main reason for the change is that I'm used to synaptics pointing device and getting used to a different touchpad is uncomfortabe. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and advice.

If you are using Windows 7 then you can try removing the Elantech drivers and let Windows picking up the driver from its database (if it has it). If not I would personally leave it alone.

    cheers ...

Thanks ghn, how would I know that windows7 has the generic drivers for the touch pad. I've tried to uninstall the Elantech driver and wanted to install the driver from Acer but it kept installing the same driver so I left it alone as I didn't want to mess anything.

EDIT: I think I should be alright with this Elantech drivers, it only needs some getting used to and it's not a major issue.
