    Hello,

Im looking to buy a lenovo ThinkPad T series. When i start the configuration you can choose between windows home premium or profesional. It says lenovo recommends proffesional. Its a 50$ difference. Would i notice as a student who uses his laptop for web browsing, office and 3d cad design the difference between the two. If i would what would be the advantages for me to buy the profesional?

    thanks in advance,
    Daniel

For your uses I stick with Home Premium, Professional has extra features geared for corporate usage such as group policies, ability to join domains and others which for most home users will never come across.

Do you need more than 16GB of RAM? If not, then go Home Premium, if yes, go Pro. Other important question: does the laptop you're eying even supports 32GB?
Do you need xp mode? Apply answer above. ;)

I don't think it makes a difference regarding quad cores.

Check if your university has that MSDNAA thingy. You can get Windows for free then.
