Ok this is getting extremely annoying. Whenever I am playing a game, like D2 or CoD4, there seems to be some short combination of alt and some other key that activates this toolbar. It prevents me from typing anything in-game and the only way to get rid of it is to exit and restart the game. Here's a pic so you can see it.

Anyone know what this thing is and how to get rid of it? Thanks

I'm using vista if that helps.

if you have turned on any other keyboards in regional and language options and allowed the language bar to be docked into the taskbar, then that is why it is being triggered.

I used to have this same problem when i played CounterStrike Source, i'd be hitting shift to walk, ctrl to crouch and tab to view how many people are alive and some other key, then suddenly the game just goes crazy when i hold a key down. i put on chat, and the chinese keyboard entry has been turned on >_<, had to minimize, change back to english keyboard and then resume game.
by the time i had done that, i was dead.

So basically, if you have ANY language bar & keyboard settings for other languages turned on, remove the keyboards until you need them and turn off the language bar.

oh and it seems to be leftside-ALT button and shift which changes the language setting/keyboard

hey ... the chinese in the pic says something about a 'forest in the east' i think that this would be pertinent to diablo .... maybe the one in cod4 has some some different characters. Though these characters are mostly from the Traditional chinese scripture and my girlfriend only understand the simple ones.

Quick question. did you buy these games cheap from Hong Kong or get them "really really really cheap" from somewhere else?

if you remove all the ones you do not use, the shortcut for changing keyboard language is rendered useless automatically as it will be stuck on english.

i believe the default key combination for changing keyboard languages is "alt+shift" so if you hit that while playing it would explain why it pops up like that.
