    Software to give your laptop a voice?

    Anyone know of software that will replace the varius beeps and sounds with a voice? :confused:

    google a program called "talkitive" it costs money, but I just use the trial. There is no time limit on mine, it just limits the output to 150 words. (who needs that much anyway) You get Microsoft Sam, and in some cases, LHMichael, and LHMichelle. It exports to WAV. Then you change your sounds so it uses the voices. Save the profile, then you're good to go.

    You can change the audio file that Windows plays for just about any event in Control Panel / Sounds. Just find and download the 'voices' that you want to play.

    What Lee said plus you can make your windows "talk to you" by enabling the text to speech feature already built in (accessibility option). It reads you mails, explains the interface and more. You can change narrator.

    Make sure they are installed from Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs / Window Components.
