    Hi guys,

I have several laptops, and I leave one in the kitchen/dining room, one in the living room, and one in my room, I want to be able to shut them down all from the one in my room.

They're all connected to the same wireless network. I've tried Psshutdown, but it has a problem with Windows 7. Any good software that works with Windows 7/Vista, and is free?

You could shut them down over the network if there pro? It would take awhile through to log on to each one and initiate a shut down command.

windows 7 pro has a remote admin feature, if you want a quick and dirty setup put tightVNC on all of the machines and have static adresses, have a shared folder with all the login icons so you can just use remote desk tops to take control of them or do maintanance from the comfort of your sofa. can also use windows remote desktop or teamviewer.

orrrrrr for us really lazy people :D

Teamviewer would be the most simple way.

nah, the little remote reboot/shutdown program in the link I posted is by far the easiest if that is all you need. yes for remote desktops Teamviewer is about the simplest

just create a batch file with the following lines:

    shutdown -s /f /m \\computername1
    shutdown -s /f /m \\computername2
    shutdown -s /f /m \\computername3
    exit

I use this on an XP network and it works great. I would assume it work work with Vista/7 as well. Set it up as a scheduled event and never have to worry about it.
