This movie is in two files, .bin, and .cue. Noobish Q: now I use something that can load this as a virtual drive and load it up & it plays?

Yes, you should be able to; I know Daemon Tools can mount that filetype; not sure about alcohol 120%

Also, VLC media player (videolan) can play it without mounting to a virtual drive.

I use daemontools. You mount the cue file to the v-drive and it should work.

safer is to burn bin+cue image back to a dvd/cd, make sure that it is not corrupted

never got any luck with accesing bin or cue direct

Yea except if you burn it and it's bad then you waste a disc. Mounting it onto a virtual drive with either Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools does exactly what would happen if you were to burn the image and place it into your disc drive.

Alcohol120 does mount .bin files, but needs the .cue file along with them

I'm pretty sure I've had alcohol mount .bin files without a .cue file without a problem....
