Okay so I finally got around to installing my Macromedia Fireworks CS3 on my vista laptop. I used to use it on my old XP desktop but I never really bothered to install CS3 until now. For some reason, using the eraser, pencil, or paintbrush tools seems to make the thing lag horribly. I get terrible cursor lag and the thing moves very sluggishly. It did not do this to me at school, it does not do this on my desktop, why does it do it on my laptop which has better specs than either the computers at school or my desktop?

I think it may be a problem with vista. I'm guessing you use XP at school and on your desktop.

Yeah, XP Pro w/Sp2 on both. I was hoping maybe someone else had experienced this problem and had a solution...

It sounds like a problem with vista so you may have to bear with it until they release an update.

Solved the problem. Turns out Vista Aero makes fireworks run really badly especially with the eraser and paintbrush tools. Why it does this is beyond me but I just switched to vista basic scheme instead and it went away immediately
