The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Do not think that the only way to use Windows Live Messenger (AKA MSN Messenger) is to have a hotmail e-mail ID.

You can sign into WLM with ANY email you want, it is simple, you need to go to www.passport.net and register your email there and tada! you can sign into msn messenger now with your @xx.com email ;)

The only reason why you are able to sign into WLM using a hotmail is account is because you automatically get an electronic passport when you sign up with hotmail, but if u have another email, missing that electronic passpost, you can simply bet a free electronic passport at the above mentioned site ;)

    have fun

    Epic Fail...

Should be welcome to 2002. I've been using my ISP's e-mail for MSN since that time. :D

If you own a domain, you can integrate your domain name as a custom Live! domain. This will also allow you to use it on MSN messenger and have a hotmail mailbox.
