I am looking for some new shareware software and was wondering what others are using. I have heard that bittorrent is good, but havent tried it out. A friend of mine was telling me about a program that was developed in europe which only takes bits and pieces of files from clients, this way you are not downloading a whole file from one person. This makes it impossible for anyone to come after you for sharing. Only problem is I cant remember the name of the program.

Just wondering what others are using to swap mp3 files and other program files.

    Thanks,
    Monk

Better be fully armed and willing to battle against viruses, adware, spyware and malware. File sharing downloads are the worst vector for infestations, many come preloaded with multiple variants within the .exe.

Just for information, what your friend told you about "only downloading pieces of files from individual clients making it impossible for anyone to come after you for sharing" is complete and utter rubbish.

The main one (Kazaa) at least last time I looked at filesharing, which was a while back, most definately has legal issues and I know that users of Kazaa have been sued by the entertainment industry (and it uses the method you mention).
