I'm about ready to turn on BitLocker on both my tablet and laptop and set up To Go on my USB drive. My laptop does not have a TPM but I already changed the group policy for it to allow use without TPM.

My main question has to do with updates and installation. Will BitLocker prevent installation or lock up my drive if I perform updates to the OS through Windows Update or when I try installing new programs (.msi or .exe)?

Also I know BitLocker To Go means I'll be restricting myself for writing to the USB on Windows 7 and 8 only. For 8, is it only Pro editions of the OS or will standard editions be able to read and write to the drive as well?
