Sometimes after bringing my m1330 out of sleep mode and logging in
I find my taskbar frozen for some reason (the quicklaunch buttons, start key, notification icons all don't respond)

and I get this error message: Security option failed
Then I am forced to restart my computer to fix this problem.

    Anyone know what's going on?

I've heard it could be due to non-Vista compatible security software (anti-virus, firewall, etc). The program in question might also cause problems because it's designed for a 64 bit system but you have a 32 bit or vice versa. Just in case, you may want to update your drivers to make sure it's not driver related. I don't think it is, but it doesn't hurt.

I'm getting the above error message - this is after a long saga of re-installing VISTA Ultimate due to a file corruption. I was not able to re-install the Dell (Australia) supplied McAfee Security Center until now due to the fact I was not able to access it online at my work site.

Now that I have installed it, the computer gets real slow, that that message appears after quite sometime.

I did a RESTORE operation and the computer is back to running fine, albeit without a anti-virus program ------- anybody else find this problem?

AFAIK all my other drivers and Windows update are the latest, TIA, John
