I installed a new hard drive in my laptop then Windows 7 would keep blue-screening in the middle of booting. Tried recovering and booting into safe mode, nothing worked. So I replaced the hard drive with the new one and installed windows onto that.

I now have my original windows installation on disk that I have access to, and I'm hoping to recover my application serials that I had on the old OS.

Is there any way to attempt this? I mainly need to recover various Games for Windows Live keys from my old OS. Everything else I have a backup of.

what i did was buy an external 2.5 inch usb case. so all you have to do is slide the hard drive into the case and plug it in to your usb so you have access to the files. the case can be had for as cheap as 15 dollars from newegg.

I already have access to my drive, I just stick it in the 2nd bay. It's just there forward that I have no clue on what to do. I've googled around, but only seem to find ways of rewriting my registry to the registry in another windows folder. I'm just looking for a way to view my old registry straight from the file system and hopefully pull up a few of my software serials before I start rounding up all the customer service numbers.
