Hey guys, i realised i did post months and months ago but as that is now dead and much time has passed (been away on tour) i would like peoples opinions on the best up to date SSD for my asus g73jh-a1.

I only requre it for a my OS really, and so only needs to be64gb or thereabouts. Budget of around one one hundred pounds but would prefer cheaper! Any opinions are welcome :) cheers again!

Wrong section to ask, it would be great to move this to the Asus forums or the hardware components section.

Intel 320 or Crucial M4 would be my choices.

I'd stay away from anything Sandforce based until they 100% eliminate their very rare, but very problematic controller related BSOD issues.

Your G73 is Sata II if I remember. I have a G73 and it is Sata II, I have used a Corsair Nova 128 and now an Intel G2 and both work very well. You could go for the M4 and be able to use it if you upgreade later to a Sata III notebook. I think you should look for the best price on the following: M4, Crucial, Intel, and look to see if you can get a great deal on a Sata II or a Sata III at nearly the same price. But on your current notebook, you won't see a performance difference between a Sata II and a Sata III.

Daniel This dude had issue with his G74
    ASUS G74SX CI7 & Vertex 3 problem

I would get a SATA III drive especially if you intend to upgrade to a new machine soon, you can always sell it (G73) with the original HDD and use the SSD in the new machine.
I have the INtel X-25 in my G73 and am very happy with it.
