This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    SP2 and BT Warning!

    Install any BT software you want before SP2. After SP2 Windows only wants to use the crappy MS drivers and interface. If you install the Widcomm drivers first (before SP2) you won't have any troubles. I had to re-install XP after Windows always installed the MS drivers instead of the Widcomm drivers even while I was running the Widcomm install program. I guess it was impossible for MS to get t completely right, but SP2 is awesome regardless.

    OMG, thanks for the warning. XP isn't very good with my currect stack as it is...I'd hate to think about using their built-in garbage to manage connections.
