    Hello,

I have E1505 and after reformatting my hard drive, I can't seem to find driver for SM bus controller. Do you know where I can get the driver?

    Thank you

PM me an email address and I'll send you the folder. It's too big to attach to a post.

I had the same problem when I formatted but luckily I had a ghost imge of the original install, so I was able to copy this folder from it.

On my system it was the 'Intel ICH7 Family SM Bus Controller' when I got it installed

I'm always a bit wary of accepting software or executiable files from people that I dont know. No offense or anything its just basic computer security 101.

If your looking for the driver and some back ground info on your missing driver check this link.

    http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?docid=19E6CBF76CAE721DE0401E0A55170412&c=us&l=en&s=dhs

If your running windows XP or Media Edition this link should take you to the driver download your in need of.

    Hope this helps.

    OK,
I was just trying to help - I understood the possible security concern, but I thought if you really needed it you could just download it on a PC that wasn't your own eg. internet cafe, etc., and check it over to make sure of it's content.
