I have an acer extensa 4620Z (which i love) running vista premium.

I have a small built in card reader, and one day i had the idea to see if it could run readyboost. So i dropped in my 1 gig PNY card. and yes, the option came up to use readyboost. But after scanning the card, it said it wasnt fast enough, which i expected.

so my question is, what SD cards are fast enough to run readyboost? I would like it to be SD so i can also use it in my camera when i need, and around 4gigs.

    THANKS!!!

Not sure if you can but just try it urself. Pop it in the slot and than right click the SD card in my computer and see if there is a ready boost option under properties. Ill find my SD card and try it myself.

Don't bother. Readyboost won't give any performance gain.

Most SD Cards wont work with readyboost because it doesnt pass the 1ms seek time require

Readyboost wont make much of a difference when you already have 2gb RAM or more. Its only good if you have 1gb RAM or less

you might as well just buy more ram. it will cost either as much or less, won't stick out of your computer, and is more beneficial to performance.

When HDD will come out with as fast flash memory as the usb drive type ones, then goodbye readyboost!

You need a class 6 card, which is pretty much the highest speed there is.
    It really helps out!

I hate to break it to you, but with your system with 4GB of RAM, if you're seeing any performance gain from readyboost, it's all in your head.

ReadyBoost is a bit pointless now since RAM prices are so cheap and you are only going to see a different if you run 1 GB which is dumb to run Vista on.
