I've just bought a new system and I'm running Vista (Home Premium) at all its default settings.

However, I'm often being stopped by a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" error.

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information"

Thus far it's happening whenever I try to delete or right click on any desktop icons, and also right click or delete anything on my flash drives, in both cases the application being Windows Explorer. It also happens when I start up the laptop, in this case with the Norton application in my taskbar.

I've tried the Windows Updates, but it didn't affect the situation at all. Does anybody know what's happening, and perhaps suggest any sort of solution to the problem?
