I am trying to run Windows XP Professional SP2 via Virtual PC 2007, just for fun. I have already installed it, and it functions, but when going to full screen mode, its not full screen...its like a desktop wallpaper centered. I assume this means that Windows XP is not properly communicating with my graphics card. Are there drivers for the Intel X3100 to help solve this problem?

If I am assuming incorrectly, what is the proper thing to do? Also, how do I establish an internet connection in the virtual Windows XP and be able to view my default OS (Vista) in Explorer (in Windows XP)? I've also been thinking of running a few different Linux distributions virtually through Virtual PC but not sure how it will work, if it will work. (e.g Ubuntu/Kubuntu)

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

check the resolution of your virtual machine. and there are no graphics drivers in virtual machine. they are 1 generic one if i am not mistaken.

You have to increase the resolution from within the VM much like you would need to when the OS is your main one.

No, you need to open the virtual machine... as it is opening, go to "action" then "install or update virtual machine additions." Install those additions and it will be ok... at that point you will be able to make the window bigger by dragging. In addition, your mouse will work properly.

Virtual pc is a great free tool... I use it for testing software... keep my maine system clean....

Thanks to all for their replies. What do you mean by keeping your main system clean? A friend of mine told me its great to run because you can test out all the bugs without compromising your default OS and machine.

You answered your own question vaio2k7 :p...to keep the main system clean is to keep all test software off of your primary OS.

You need the "virtual machine additions" to allow the VM to talk to the drivers in the host OS. Without the additions, VM will be slow and ugly. It will also have limited or NO network capabilities. Get the aditions installed ASAP.
