hmm my laptop isonly a few months old. I haven't used it in one day.. today is friday and I used it on wensday.

when loggin in the icons didn't actually appear or the search bar or anything (wasn't a phenominally long time but, enough to make me hit ctrl alt delete) shut it down and relog in. While logging out it said "ending process asghost"my icons then appeared and the comp shut down.

I then booted it back up and logged in.. and yet again I had to hit ctrl alt delete..a nd used the task manage to get here..

after using task manager to pull up the internet my icons appeared. ANy ideas whats wrong?

Sounds like asghost is some kind of security or identity program. If you can boot into safe mode and uncheck it in the startup, you should be fine.

    http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/asghost/

That site says it's not necessary. It also seems to have issues with Citrix if you have that installed or run it.

If you haven't installed anything major in the past few days its not a bad idea.. You should try doing msconfig in cmd promp and eliminating it as a start up option if its there.

" asghost.exe is a process belonging to Cognizance Identity and Access Management. Cognizance Identity and Access Management is a security solution designed on the concept of the unified user identity. This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems"
