I recently did a restore of my Vista drive and soon discovered that it was created before I set up the dual boot reconfiguration with XP. However, I can't seem to use EasyBCD to set it up again as I keep getting the error "ntdlr not found". Is there a way to fix this? Thanks

Can you access Vista now? Or you can access neither system ?
Boot your computer by XP cd , and then select “Windows XP Recovery Console” ,you will get a cmd prompt ,enter your password of XP administrator ,and enter this two commads one by one:fixmbr.exe , fixboot.exe ,then reboot your computer ,Good luck!

I can boot into Vista fine.

If I executed those commands, wouldn't they make Vista unaccessible?

    yes,it is probable.
But now ,your Vista cant work normally too...
You must give up one ,but the vista system is not very easy to recover.
If you have installed Vista ofter XP ' installing ,this problem would not appear !

I tried the two commands, but they didn't get rid of the error. I had to do a repair of Vista to boot back to a working OS again.

I can boot into the Vista partition after restoring the startup manager with the Vista installation disc.

When I entered the recovery console, I choose 2, which was the XP partition.

I already tried that, but it didn't work. When I try to boot into XP again, it still gave me the ntdlr is not found error. However, I saw the ntdlr file in Vista under the XP partition.

If it still does not work, try this commands:
    expand x(your cd drive):\i386\driver.cab /f:halacpi.dll d:\windows\system32
    ren d:\windows\system32\halacpi.dll hal.dll.
