I just have one small problem, my restart seems behave differently from my shutdown, in my shutdown, the windows wait for apps to close properly before logging out, but when i use restart, it doesnt wait, just forces the application closed.

Like this scenario, open notepad, just type some letters and dont save it. when i shutdown, it waits until the dialouge "Do you want to save changes?" closes. but when i restart, windows doesnt wait and it just force shutdown everything.

How can i set this? I know all about that shutdown wait time, etc. but its only working on shutdown not restart.

I know there's settings you can fool around through your power properties in terms of how you want them to behave. Not sure if that's what you're looking for or how the Acer is set up but I can configure my book to hibernate, sleep or shutdown when I close my lid and what action it should take regarding my work in progress. Same goes to my sleep and power button.

There are registry keys in Windows that handle whether programs are auto-exited or if shutdown/restart waits for them. I wouldn't mess around with the registry if you aren't sure of what you're doing, but if you are that's where I'd start. You can find those keys pretty easy by doing a little google work.

I'm pretty sure the key is "autoendprograms", but I'm not sure exactly where they are located.

As I said in the first post, I already know all of that, and it works, but only on shutdown. Restart force close all applications.

I really don't see where you said you know all of that...

The registry gets WAY more in-depth than your standard run-of-the-mill Windows UI settings (power, control panel,etc.). I GUARENTEE you'd find your answer there. You have to do some detective work.

    It's a registry problem. I know it.
