A program borked Vista's "Downloads" folder. I deleted the folder thinking I could merely create a new folder and restore the glass/shiny folder that way. I was wrong. The new folder still looks bland and generic (yellow). I know the restore/replace process is something ridiculously easy, like "search 'shells (something)' click, voilĂ ."

Anyhoo, does anyone know how to restore Windows Vista folders sans third party programs? (I prefer using the "shell" method.)

    TIA!

    *Edit.

I figured out how to restore the folder using the method I remember: Shell:downloads. However, the folder still looks generic. Any ideas how to restore the folder to it's bluish color?

    **Edit.

    Fixed.

System restore back to the day it was still working?

Alternatively you can try go to the folder options and go to the view tab > Reset Folders
