How would I accomplish this? I've already uninstalled it but it's still there. CCleaner does not work. Is there some other way, perhaps registry, to do it?

deleting in ccleaner should work (not uninstalling, just deleting the entry).
else, search for the entry in the registry, you may be able to kill it there (but be careful, as always).

I've tried the CCleaner method and I get an error, so I was asking for a possible registry fix.

Maybe refresh the view or reopen the window?

I had case where files we're left visible after deleting - explorer hadnb't refreshed the "view".

Else - I think deleting the entry with CCleaner is your best bet without the potential for harm.

    edit:
Saw your response when I posted my comment:
    ok, then...
Run CCleaner in the registry cleaner mode - but read every item - if you don't recognize it, leave it.

    Edit 2:
Of course you do so at your own risk - generally you are fine with CCleaner, but still, be careful with what you delete.

This dead entry has been there since November when I uninstalled it.

CCleaner's error is in the attached image; so no guys, CCleaner will NOT work.

one thing you may have not tried. rightclick on the programs and features entry and try to repair or uninstall. i know you've tried all choises, just try them again. i sometimes have items that then get removed from the list by themselfes.

Trying Repair or Uninstall gives the attached error.

As for the registry option, could anyone give me some pointers as to where to look? I'm not a registry pro.

On CCleaner? - second from the top on the left - where it says Registry, then click on scan.

After it did, uncheck the top box to uncheck everything, make CCleaner fullscreen, an dyou should be able to read "keypaths".

Remove keys of software you removed only.
Remove- meaning check, then click on "repair" - and save a backup copy, just in case - it'll prompt before removing the entries.

CCleaner's registry scan returns nothing. I was hoping for a path in Regedit that I could go to and delete something to remove it.

Local Machine - Software - that's the only one you may touch...
    Look for the programs name/manufacturer

Just removed folders UGS and Unigraphics from Local Machine and Current User respectively. Rebooted and no effect. Is there a way to edit Programs And Features without CCleaner?

    Not really.

I actually wonder whether it wouldn't be better to leave it?

I mean - the software is gone now - you could go into the Windows Folder on C and remove all the files... if there are any left that is...

Nope, all files have been removed. I just don't like how it's just sitting there randomly.

I don't have my Vista computer with me now, but in XP Pro you can find the uninstall stuff in your registry under HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall . Once you find the key for that program you should be able to delete it. Make a system restore point before you do that and if it messes with something you can just restore your restore point.

As DetlevCM says, good find. You might post that link up on the free software thread as well to see if it'll get included in the list of useful free software.
