I'd say re-install windows completely and then you'll be free of rubbish!

It really is the best way.

Go under add/remove and uninstall. Then go the programs directory and delete bloated directories. And last but not least do a registry clean after a re-boot. CCleaner is an excellent free registry cleaner.

Unless you honestly know what you're doing, getting rid of it all will be a pain in the ass. Just clean install dude, all teh other suggestions you've been getting may crap your pc up even more.

I will be receiving my Toshiba U300 tomorrow (which Im proud to say I got brand new for $499 Wahoo!!!!) and will be able to advise you then if you like.

My plan is to first locate, download and make DVD driver disks for both 32 and 64bit, backup the original system with Acronis 15 day trial, do a complete format...and then do a trial install of each the 32bit and 64 bit systems.

I may just throw a SSD in for good measure but, maybe not, as I got the system for my wife who doesn't recognize the difference between the two drives.

As for bloatware, I am under the impression that this system is the absolute worst and a full reinstall is in order.

If all goes well, maybe i will be able to put together a Toshiba Clean Install Guide.

I didn't do a clean install on my T60 when I got it, but now I wish I would have. Now I've got a bunch of stuff installed on it, and to do a clean install now would be even more of a pain in the a**. I'd suggest a system backup first, just in case you want to go back (unless you want to rely solely on the system restore partition on the HD).

When I received my laptop some helpful programs are loaded such as support information and instruction manual. Yes they sent me the programs if I do reload but some programs are specific to it. I'd like to reformat but then again the blu-ray player might not work afterwards.
