I just purchased an Acer Aspire 5672 and it came with XPHome.

I would like to wipe the hard drive and install either MCE or XPpro. Will I have problems getting all my devices to work properly?

Will the modem, web cam, bluetooth etc. drivers install ok or will I have to track them down and load them manually?

    Has anyone done this before?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You shouldnt have a problem as long as the drivers are on a seperate CD or if you will be downloading them from the manufacture's website.

I guess its a dumb question about the drivers. Now that I look and see all the drivers are downloadable from the acer sight I am guessing I will have to download them all and install them manually.

I would still be interested on hearing from anyone who has done this and how it went.

I have to find drivers like that all the time for work. If its a brand name and fairly recent then it should be a breeze. I copy dload the network driver(with other comp or before u wipe it) and load it on the unit after the install finishes. Then just go on acers site and download the rest. Also xp comes with a lot of generic drivers that may auto detect and speed the progress. Just feel lucky its win xp and not win98 or earlier..... *shudders*
